Robin Padilla will star in Sundo, an upcoming horror thriller. We'll upload the trailer of Robin's movie here when it is available. It will be directed by Topel Lee and produced by GMA Films by the same team that brought us Ouija.

Piolo Pascual on his absence from the Bench Blackout 2008 Fashion Show: "Hindi talaga ako kasali sa Bench fashion show. Bago man ito naplano, wala talaga ako sa show. Also that day [July 25], I was doing a commercial shoot. So there is no chance for me to do the show."

Betty La Fea's Bea Alonzo feels pressured?

Bea Alonzo will star in the Philippine version of the world famous Colombian telenovela Betty La Fea. Shooting on the series will reportedly start immediately, as ABS-CBN continues to falter in TV ratings due to the high rating GMA programs 'Dyesebel' 'Babangon' and 'Joaquin Bordado', respectively the top 3 rating programs in the Philippines.

TV Patrol: Bea Alonzo talks about 'Betty La Fea'

Director Wenn Deramas confirmed that ABS-CBS management chose Bea to star in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Colombian telenovela, Betty La Fea.

Betty La Fea is a world famous Colombian telenovela that aired from 1999 to 2001. The first version was shown in GMA7 in the Philippines, and re-run on Studio 23. ABS-CBN bought the rights to remake the telenovela from Colombian TV company RCN Caracol.

Betty was remade around the world, including the Emmy-Award winning U.S. comedy Ugly Betty. Other countries to remake the telenovela were Spain, Israel, India, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Netherlands, Greece, Croatia, Czech Republic, Portugal, and more.

Dyesebel is the #1 show in primetime. Daisy Siete is the #1 daytime show. Pilipinas GKNB is the #1 daytime show for ABS-CBN, and The Singing Bee is the #1 nightime show for 'Family'.

El Cuerpo del Deseo continues to be an important franchise for ABS-CBN as it continues it's reign as their highest rating daytime drama as it reaches an all time high peaking Friday as the 6th most watched show in the country tying it with 'Wowowee', it's highest ratings to date since it's debut last month.

Gabby Concepcion still has the magic, and many Filipinos are still interested to see him act on screen as the 17.4 percent rating of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) showed last Friday, May 2, which was Gabby's first acting assignment after more than 13 years.

Many people say that 'La Usurpadora' was the basis for the GMA7 program 'Impostora' because of it's many similarities.

'Mi Prima Ciela' is moving to 9:30 am, and the first chapter of 'La Usurpadora' will be premiering tomorrow at 5pm on Telefutura USA. It was gonna be aired at 7 am, but the network people knew how huge of a worldwide hit this novela was and decided to move 'Mi Prima Ciela' to the morning just to make room for La Usurpadora to air at the coveted early evening 5pm timeslot when they know a lot of people will be watching. Telefutura is available nationwide in the USA under Time Warner Cable, which means it basically covers the entire country since practically everyone in the United States is subscribed to Time Warner Cable, on Ch. 26, and via antenna on Ch. 46 in L.A.

I know a lot of Filipinos loved this show back home in the Philippines, and many were begging 'Telenovelas Filipinas' for the chance to watch it again, well here's your chance if you live in the US. You don't need to order any special channels, because of course, the US-based Spanish language channels Univision, Telemundo, Telefutura, and Galavision, come as part of every standard cable package in the USA, and are also available nationwide via antenna Ch. 34 Univision, Ch. 52 Telemundo, Ch. 46 Telefutura in Los Angeles. Subtitles and closed captioning available on CC1.

Isn't it amazing how some TV shows are timeless and span the test of time? You can watch it years later, and it's still just as good, and people still clamor to watch it and have memories of it years later.

TV Ratings April 21-24: 'El Cuerpo del Deseo'

Kamandag starring Richard Gutierrez retains #1 lead in TV ratings as the show comes to an end in it's last week. Some say that telenovelas are no longer popular in the Philippines and that Asianovelas have replaced them, but the Nielsen ratings say the complete opposite as El Cuerpo del Deseo maintains it's lead as the country's highest rating non-Filipino daytime series, as well as ABS-CBN's highest rating daytime series getting higher ratings than the asianovela Hana Kimi, which hasn't even entered the Top 10 yet, Princesa ng Banyera, Da Big Show, Sis, & Boy and Kris.
Mario Cimarro won the FAMAS Award in the US for Best Actor for his role in 'El Cuerpo del Deseo.' A lot of Philippine newspapers describe him as a 'Mexican actor', but he's actually Cuban, like Ricky Ricardo, hehe. Full TV ratings after the jump.
