Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion's Star Cinema movie has begun it's story conference, for which Richard had to go to the ABS-CBN studios to meet with producers about a story concept.
How did he feel about visiting the ABS-CBN studios and about his new movie with KC? "Well, I consider it a sign of unity for both networks, and this is the first time this has happened. I think it's a big step on both networks and we're very, very happy to be part of it. Napagbigyan kami at hindi namin ini-expect na talagang matutuloy siya. This movie is for all the people who requested for it, this is for them," Richard Gutierrez tells the media about his movie with KC Concepcion for Star Cinema.
Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion's new movie together will replace the upcoming Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes movie for the upcoming August 2008 playdate.
KC, however, hasn't replaced Marian as far as TV ratings are concerned, as Dyesebel is still the #1 show in the country. Dahil sa biglang pagpasok ng pelikulang unang pagtatambalan nina Richard Gutierrez at KC Concepcion sa bakuran ng Star Cinema—the first ex-deal between GMA Films and ABS-CBN's film arm—na-move naman first movie team-up sana nina Dingdong Dantes at Marian Rivera, kung saan kasama rin nila si Iza Calzado.
Mula sa isang insider sa GMA Films, napag-alaman ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na totoo raw na ang original playdate sana ng movie nina Dingdong, Marian, at Iza may tentative title na Amnesia ay sa August of this year.
Ayon pa sa aming source, nang i-announce ang mga naka-lineup na pelikula ng GMA Films this year, August ang sinabing playdate ng Amnesia dahil magandang regalo raw ito para sa tatlong bida. Nagkataon kasing August celebrants silang lahat. Si Dingdong ay August 2 ang birthday habang sina Marian and Iza naman ay parehong sa August 12.
Obviously, hindi na matutuloy na sa August ipalabas ang Amnesia, na supposed to be ay ngayong May sana ang simula ng shooting. Pero na-move na raw ito sa June.
Instead na August, malamang daw na by September na ang showing nito to give way to the Richard-KC movie na solong ipo-produce ng Star Cinema, contrary sa ilang naglalabasang reports na co-produced ito ng Star Cinema at GMA Films. Iba naman daw kasi ang ex-deal na ang GMA Films ang magiging solong producer ng isa pang Richard-KC movie na malamang na ipalabas early next year.
Mukhang sa mga pangyayari, kahit parehong sinasabi nina Richard at Dingdong sa mga interview nila na hindi sila naaapektuhan at wala silang problema, hindi maiiwasan ang tapatan nila at maintriga sila sa isa't isa. Walang duda na sa bakuran ng Kapuso network, silang dalawa ang itinuturing na most important lead actors at pareho ring may guaranteed contracts sa GMA-7. PEP

My Bestfriend's Girlfriend with Marian Rivera was a hit this past February 14 weekend making 50 million pesos in it's four days of release alone. Present during the signing were Star Cinema head Malou Santos, ABS-CBN Corporate Communication head Bong Osorio and other network executives.
The actor was accompanied by his talent manager and mother Anabelle Rama.

Nagsimula ang usap-usapan tungkol sa pagtatambal nina Richard at KC nang pumirma ng three-picture deal si KC sa Star Cinema last Wednesday, April 30. Hindi man siya nagbigay ng kumpirmasyon, nagbigay ng pahiwatig si KC na si Richard ang magiging leading man niya sa una niyang pelikula.
Nang tanungin kasi siya tungkol sa kanyang first leading man, ito lang ang binitawan niyang salita: "Siguro po ang masasabi ko riyan, ipinaglaban naming dalawa." (Click here to read full story.)
Marami ang nagsasabi na imposibleng magkatambal sina Richard at KC dahil nakakontrata sila sa magkalabang networks at film companies; si Richard sa GMA-7 at GMA Films samantalang si KC sa ABS-CBN at Star Cinema.
Pero dahil na rin siguro sa matinding clamor mula sa mga tagahanga nina Richard at KC na pagsamahin sila sa isang pelikula, nagkaroon ng katuparan ang maitututring na "dream project" na ito.
Hindi nagbigay ng detalye ang TV Patrol World tungkol sa negosasyong naganap sa pagitan ng kampo ni Richard at ng Star Cinema, o kung gagawa rin ba ng pelikula si KC sa ilalim ng GMA Films. Pero matatandaang nagbigay ng feelers ang GMA Films sa Star Cinema na willing silang makipag-co-produce para sa proyektong pagsasamahan nina Richard at KC.
Sa contract signing ni KC ay sinabi niya na sobrang excited siya sa mga naka-lineup na pelikula niya sa Star Cinema dahil marami raw silang sorpresang ihahandog sa mga manonood. Ang pagtatambal nila ni Richard, na balitang nanliligaw rin kay KC, ang tinutukoy na isa sa mga sorpresa ng young actress.
Kinumpirma rin ng managing director ng Star Cinema na si Ms. Malou Santos na isa si Richard sa pinagpipilian nilang maging leading man ni KC.
Sisimulan ang shooting ng pelikula nina Richard at KC sa June, pagbalik ng young actress mula sa pagbabakasyon niya sa Paris, France. PEP

Meanwhile, Star Cinema head Malous Santos admits that she is pondering for KC to star in a movie with Richard Gutierrez, but KC refuses to comment in the meantime. "Ano naman kami, e, we're getting to know each other. Friend ko siya. Walang pressure, wala kaming ibinibigay na pressure sa isa't isa. Kung ano ang mangyayari, yun ang mangyayari. Masaya siyang kasama. Masaya siyang kausap. Hindi naman siya mahirap mapalapit sa akin. Hindi naman siya mahirap lapitan," says KC Concepcion about Richard Gutierrez. PEP
Kamandag starring Richard Gutierrez retains #1 lead in TV ratings as the show comes to an end in it's last week. Some say that telenovelas are no longer popular in the Philippines and that Asianovelas have replaced them, but the Nielsen ratings say the complete opposite as El Cuerpo del Deseo maintains it's lead as the country's highest rating non-Filipino daytime series, as well as ABS-CBN's highest rating daytime series getting higher ratings than the asianovela Hana Kimi, which hasn't even entered the Top 10 yet, Princesa ng Banyera, Da Big Show, Sis, & Boy and Kris. Mario Cimarro won the FAMAS Award in the US for Best Actor for his role in 'El Cuerpo del Deseo.' A lot of Philippine newspapers describe him as a 'Mexican actor', but he's actually Cuban, like Ricky Ricardo, hehe. Full TV ratings after the jump. Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes talk to Showbiz Central about the debut of "Dyesebel" Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
The likes of Edna Luna, Vilma Santos, Alma Moreno, Alice Dixson, and Charlene Gonzalez have one thing in common: famous fins. They all have graced the big screen wearing nothing but a tail and a couple of seashells and carried the famous name almost everyone can recognize: Dyesebel.
GMA-7 brings back Dyesebel in TV for everyone to appreciate as they chose none other than Marian Rivera to give life anew to the fish-tailed princess. Once again, she is paired with Marimar co-star Dingdong Dantes as they both challenge themselves to bring new life their successful love team and offer something new to the viewers.
Fresh from their set in Coron, Palawan, Marian and Dingdong graced Showbiz CentralDyesebel billboard in front of GMA Network Center. yesterday, April 20, as they both talked about the physical and emotional challenges of making the show and wait with the fans for the unveiling of the new
UNDER THE SEA.Showbiz Central host Pia Guanio commented on Marian's sacrifices for Dyesebel.
"Marian, pinapanood ko pa lang ang footage ng shooting mo sa Palawan, e, parang hirap na hirap ako. But first, getting into the costume. Mahirap ba na isuot ang buntot mo, yung headdress mo? How did you manage to stay so beautiful kahit underwater at napaka-hirap ng mga eksena?"
"Siguro sa tulong na din ng makeup artist ko," Marian replied. "Tapos yung buntot, nilalagay na lang siya ‘pag nasa tubig na ako. Kasi mas mahirap ‘pag wala ako sa tubig. So, sa tubig ko siya nilalagay."
Pia followed, "Of course, Dingdong has had some experience shooting underwater scenes in the past. One of your problems is not being able to sink. Kasi naman, sa kaseksihan ni Marian, e, paano ba naman ‘yan lulubog sa tubig? Dingdong, anong mga tips ang binigay mo kay Marian to help her out?"
"Mahirap talaga yung ginagawa niya," Dingdong admitted. "As in kailangan pang maglagay ng pabigat, ‘tapos at the same time, malamig pa sa ilalim ng tubig. Kaya sinasabi ko parati sa kanya na to relax lang talaga."
"Marian, we know for a fact na one of the scenes, talagang iniyakan mo sa hirap," Pia said as Marian laughed. "And of course, hindi ka naman namin masisisi. Talagang mahirap talaga mga eksena mo. This was your last scene na kinuha sa Palawan wherein si Dyesebel, kinailangan iaangat sa tubig si Fredo [Dingdong's character]. Alam na namin yung kwento mo tungkol diyan. Pero ikaw Dingdong, nahirapan ka din ba sa eksenang yun?"
"Actually, ako kasi, parang walang malay ako doon, unconscious ako. So hinihintay ko lang siya [Marian] na dumating at sagipin ako. Nagawa naman namin, e, yung first part."
"But you could feel her frustration?" Pia followed.
"Very much," Dingdong answered. "Kasi four, five days kami sa Palawan. Nong umpisa pa lang, mula araw hanggang mawalan ng araw, e, talagang nasa ilalim ng tubig. Hindi siya umaahon unless ‘pag kumakain lang...or nagsi-CR."
ROLE PLAYING. Dingdong's joke brought about screams as Pia can hardly hear her own question to Dingdong and Marian. Luckily, she was able to bring her question across.
"Of course, unprecedented talaga yung love team ninyong dalawa. Everybody is wondering kung papaano ninyo iibahin yung atake ninyo sa love team ninyo sa Dyesebel at what you did as Sergio and Marimar."
Marian offered to answer first by saying, "Madaming kaibahan din and siyempre, ibang-iba si Marimar kay Dyesebel. Kasi si Dyesebel kasi, sobrang pilya. Light din ang buhay para sa kanya."
Unfortunately, Dingdong's concurrent statement to Marian's answer was drowned by the crowd's unified cheers. Switching from love team-related questions, Pia asked when will two return to Palawan.
"Ngayon, ine-explore pa namin yung iba't-ibang lugar," Dingdong replied. "Bataan, at meron din kami sa Bulacan. Hangga't hindi tag-ulan."
"Pero it's not all fun and games. Alam kong si Marian madalas masugatan sa corals," Pia suddenly asked. "Nasugatan while shooting the underwater scenes. Is that true Marian?"
Marian replied, "Opo, kasi sa tubig ang hirap talagang dumilat at malabo pa yung mata ko. So, nagma-mask muna ako pero hindi ko rin maiwasan na minsan nasasadsad din ako sa mga corals na."
During the show, the giant billboard of Dyesebel in front of GMA Network Center was also unveiled.
Jolina Magdangalis off to Italy to shoot the movie that was supposed to star Gabby Concepcion, and her TV show Pinoy Idol debuted this week on Philippine television, with Ogie Alcasid, Raymond Gutierrez, and Wygnard Tracy. It was entertaining, although the original was so much better and more fun to watch, but the quality of TV is improving in the Philippines, thank God. But Philippine TV has always been depressing to watch, because most of the stories are so depressing reflecting I suppose the supposedly depressing life of the masses, so I guess, what's the difference? Love Spell is great and Philippine TV needs more supernatural/horror shows, because that's what Filipinos are really good at making. Sigaw, of which it's American remake will be coming out soon, is a fantastic example. Palos starring Cesar Montano & Jake Cuencais obviously an attempted remake of James Bond, but it doesn't work. I've watched it, and some scenes are entertaining, but they should stick to Tagalog. The English dialogue is written well and if you take the words they say and put it on paper, it's really sophisticated, but when you hear the actors and actresses actually say it, it just doesn't click...
