RBD's 'Tu Amor' is the Music Video of the Week, and is being used as the theme song for TV5's Rebelde, the Argentinean telenovela about a group of teens at a private boarding school that entertains Filipino viewers daily at 3pm and 1:30 a.m. RBD is the hit musical group comprised of actors that were part of the cast of the remake of the original telenovela from Argentina, so it fits, and it's a great song. It's in English.Group members (L-R): Dulce Maria, Alfonso Herrera, Anahi, Christopher Uckermann, Maite, CristianHere's the scoop on this group. Since their introduction in 2004, RBD has sold over 11 million albums worldwide. The blonde, Anahi, is a recovered anorexic and says she came public with it to inspire other girls who are suffering also from anorexia and bulimia. Cristian Chavez came out of the closet, married his boyfriend in Canada, and became the first openly gay celebrity in the entire Spanish speaking world. Dulce Maria released a book, Anahi released a clothing line, and Alfonso Herrera and Christopher Uckermann are also rumoured to be gay, Uckermann was photographed at a gay club in Miami, and Alfonso is said to have a boyfriend, but the musical group's livelihood depends on them maintaining appearance. The group will supposedly break up, and Maite is already starring in her own hit telenovela. Anahi has released a few solo albums already and will go solo a la Thalia as well.

John Lloyd Cruz Betty La Fea's Armando

John Lloyd Cruz is Betty La Fea's Armando as revealed today on The Buzz. All I have to say is I do know that people from ABS-CBN are reading this blog, because of my cousin who works with them (and GMA as well), so I just gotta say thank God they listened to me and didn't cast Jake Cuenca, and I said to cast John Lloyd and they did. So that's good, because this role requires a really good actor, and the chemistry between Armando and Betty is so important, and it's quite established that John Lloyd and Bea have great chemistry.
ABS-CBN also listened to me sort of when I said to cast Assunta de Rossi in the cast. Well, they cast Alessandra de Rossi instead, and that's great, because I love her and I love that she'll be in this series because she's a great actress. There's a reason why at the age of 16 she won the FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Azucena".

Piolo Pascual was a possible prospect for the role: “I’m not supposed to tell, it's a secret. People will find out and it shouldn't come from me,” Pascual said.

Untamed Beauties, TV5 Philippines

Untamed Beauties is one of the new programs airing on TV5. It's a telenovela from TV Azteca orignally called Bellezas Indomables. We watched it in Spanish in the US, and it was okay, but I swear, hearing it dubbed in Tagalog on TV5 as "Untamed Beauties" was amazing. The dubbers in the Philippines really know what they're doing and did a great job on it, so much so that they actually improved the program I'd estimate 300 percent, hehe. So bravo Philippine dubbers for doing a fantastic job as usual! It airs 2pm.Claudia Alvarez and singer Yahir (who sings the theme song) star in this telenovela about a rich girl who falls in love with her driver. In real life, that sounds yucky, but it works for a telenovela since not many drivers look like Yahir. Yahir - La Locura (The Craziness) Music Video
Listen to this song, it's such a great song, it's one of my favorites of all time, Yahir has an amazing voice, and this song is just unbelievable. It's a good song to make out to.Interestingly enough, not many polubes look like Thalia either, but it works in telenovela land, hehe.TV5 is aiming for a younger audience, and with this telenovela and Rebelde, I think they're headed for a home run. I also think it's an extremely smart marketing move that they chose Rebelde, since RBD is one of the hottest bands in the world right now, if it sparks in the Philippines, that's a big opportunity for revenue like what happened with F4 and Meteor Garden. That's exactly what I was thinking of before.Many people are mistaken in assuming that GMA has their own set of dubbers, and ABS-CBN has their own set of dubbers, etc. because in reality, the programs are outsourced to the same company that handles all the dubbing on all the foreign programs that air in the Philippines, whether anime, Spanish telenovelas, asianovelas, etc. The Philippine TV networks purchase the program, but the talents that dub the programs into Tagalog are under a separate company.
