Desperadas 2 will star Rufa Mae Quinto, Ruffa Gutierrez, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, and ... Ogie Alcasid?

It's true, the popular singer will replace Eugene Domingo's role in the upcoming movie from Regal Films. However, the role will not be changed and Ogie will play a woman in Desperadas 2. Ogie says it's a done deal already when asked about it at the taping for Celebrity Duets this past weekend.

Eugene Domingo's manager pulled her out of Desperadas 2, as well as another upcoming Regal project.

Desperadas 2 will premiere within months from now, and we'll have the trailer here when it's available.

The Echo's Iza Calzado

Filipina actress Iza Calzado will star in a Hollywood movie (The Echo), three mainstream movies: (Desperadas 2, One True Love, and Scaregiver), three indie films (Manila, Fuschia, and Adela) and two TV shows (Lalola and Obra) within the next three months. The Echo is an American movie directed by Filipino director Yam Laranas which also stars Jesse Bradford. The Echo is a remake of the Filipino thriller 'Sigaw' which also starred Iza Calzado. Iza's not only conquering Hollywood, she's conquering the world and making Pinoys all around the world proud of her.

Lalola Philippines: Iza Calzado

Iza Calzado makes a special guest appearance in Lalola Philippines as Sera, the good sorceress who will resort to black magic to avenge her sister Ada (Jewel Mische). Iza looks amazing in yellow, and is preparing for her Hollywood career as The Echo with Jesse Bradford comes out in 2009. Iza has an American agent, her boyfriend.

All About Eve Philippine Version

All About Eve, the Philippine Version of the Korean drama, will be broadcast by GMA7. It will star Iza Calzado and Sunshine Dizon. Filming begins in November 2008, and it's scheduled to air in March 2009.

Regal Films 48th Anniversary

Mother Lily Monteverde and Regal Films' 48th Anniversary was celebrated on SOP today with special appearances by Judy Ann Santos, Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo, Rufa Mae Quinto, and a whole bunch of talents that appeared in the film outfit's movies over the years. The latest sure to be blockbuster from Regal is Mag-ingat Ka Sa Kulam, out in theatres in October starring Judy Ann and Dennis.

Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are currently busy filming One True Love. The film, which also stars Iza Calzado, will be directed by Mac Alejandre. On showbiz rivalries: 'Hindi po ako nakikipagkumpitensiya.'

Carmen Rosales was dubbed the "Greta Garbo" of the Philippines. She was the highest paid actress of her time. One of her unforgetable movies was "Maalaala Mo Kaya" together with Rogelio De La Rosa, under Sampaguita Pictures. Her career started in the 1930's and she stayed in pictures until 1965 in her last movie "Gintong Recuerdo". She received her first FAMAS Best Actress Award in 1953. The Echo's Iza Calzado

The Echo, the American remake of Sigaw starring Iza Calzado and Jesse Bradford, has just finished it's final edit according to our friend, direk Yam Laranas, which means that it's worldwide release will be very soon!

I'm also very glad to hear that Iza Calzado has an American agent who will work out her career for her to capitalize on 'The Echo' and to help launch her as an international actress. She is a fantastic actress, and I've always been a fan of hers since she first debuted, and she deserves all the success because she is so down to earth and sweet.

Gabby Concepcion and Iza Calzado will star in a movie, fulfilling Gabby's contract deal with GMA Films.

Gabby was supposed to star in Italy with Jolina Magdangal and Rufa Mae Quinto, but pulled out at the last minute saying he wanted a more serious role for his comeback to cine, and signed a 2 year exclusive deal with ABS-CBN. Pinoy Idol with Jolina Magdangal!

Jolina Magdangal is off to Italy to shoot the movie that was supposed to star Gabby Concepcion, and her TV show Pinoy Idol debuted this week on Philippine television, with Ogie Alcasid, Raymond Gutierrez, and Wygnard Tracy. It was entertaining, although the original was so much better and more fun to watch, but the quality of TV is improving in the Philippines, thank God.

I Am KC has been airing saturdays starring KC Concepcion & Ai Ai de las Alas.
Kung Fu Kids is a great showcase for all of the talented young actors in the Philippines, however, it's a poorly scripted show that is so depressing to watch. But Philippine TV has always been depressing to watch, because most of the stories are so depressing reflecting I suppose the supposedly depressing life of the masses, so I guess, what's the difference?
Love Spell is great and Philippine TV needs more supernatural/horror shows, because that's what Filipinos are really good at making. Sigaw, of which it's American remake will be coming out soon, is a fantastic example.
Palos starring Cesar Montano & Jake Cuenca is obviously an attempted remake of James Bond, but it doesn't work. I've watched it, and some scenes are entertaining, but they should stick to Tagalog. The English dialogue is written well and if you take the words they say and put it on paper, it's really sophisticated, but when you hear the actors and actresses actually say it, it just doesn't click...
