Billy Crawford is one of Cosmopolitan's 2008 Male Centerfolds, and Billy is a great TV host. He's so funny, and he has the gift that whatever words that come out of his mouth are never boring or tripe, they're always smart and funny, and I hope he gets more hosting jobs or perhaps his own TV show in the future (when he comes back from promoting his next album) where he gets to just be himself.

The thing is that before, he would always get dance shows and the only thing he would do was performances at SOP, but they didn't realize that besides his musical talent, he has this great personality that people are really drawn to, he really should've done more hosting at GMA, and it's good that he has Uber and Pinoy Dream Academy now to just let his natural exuberance and sparkling personality flow. And hopefully, it won't be the last.

Richard Gutierrez KC Concepcion Valentine movie from GMA Films and Regal

Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion will team up in a Valentine movie to be produced by GMA Films and Regal Entertainment, and directed by Jose Javier Reyes.

Tuloy na tuloy na ang Valentine movie nina Richard Gutierrez at KC Concepcion next year from GMA Films and Regal Entertainment.



Gabi ng Miyerkules, May 21, isang biglaang invitation ang natanggap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) mula sa Corporate Communication ng GMA-7 saying, "tuloy na ang contract signing tomorrow of Richard and KC and Direk Joey [Reyes] tomorrow 11 am at the 16th floor Board Room."



Kasunod nito ay nakatanggap kami agad ng tawag sa Project Development Manager and Head of Synergy ng GMA Films na si Noel Ferrer. Ang una naming tinanong sa kanya ay kung "naayos" na ang lahat for the contract signing to push through. Oo raw, so all is set for GMA Films to announce its separate project with Richard and KC.



IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. Mula pa sa simula, everyone wanted to see Richard and KC on screen but it seemed an impossible dream. Richard is an exclusive GMA Films artist at si KC, ipinahayag na noon na pipirma sa Star Cinema as an exclusive artist.



Making the Richard-KC team-up happen began in an early morning talk nina Noel Ferrer and Joey Abacan, VP for GMA Program Management. They wanted to suggest the idea to Star Cinema.



Sinundan ito ng public pronouncement ni GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar, when she said that GMA Films is open to the possibility of a co-production deal with Star Cinema. The next move was for GMA Films to pursue this co-production initiative along with KC's managers, Sandra Chavez and Shirley Kuan. And, in a way, tumulong na rin pareho sina Richard at KC sa pagiging vocal nila pareho na sana nga ay magkaroon ng isang pelikula na magkasama sila.



THE DEAL. A deal was set between GMA Films and Star Cinema. May sariling pelikula na gagawin ang film arm ng ABS-CBN starring Richard and KC at mauuna itong ipalalabas this August 2008. And then, ang GMA Films naman ang mag-a-announce ng kanilang separate movie, also starring the two stars na may Valentine 2009 release naman.



Nauna na nga ang dalawang big announcements ng Star Cinema. First ang pagpirma ni KC as an exclusive talent with a three-picture contract. Ikalawa, ang pagpirma ng isang picture deal ni Richard sa Star Cinema para maging kauna-unahang partner ni KC sa big screen.



It was also announced that the Star Cinema movie will be directed by Ms. Joyce Bernal and that some of the scenes will be done in Greece.



Naghintay muna ng dalawang linggo ang kampo ng GMA Films bago magbigay ng sariling announcement dahil nasa Europe pa si Annette, nasa Dubai si Richard for his Codename: Asero, at busy naman si KC sa UN work niya sa Marawi.



Tuesday, May 20, of this week na-set ang announcement. But some technicalities surfaced na kailangang ayusin about the contract of KC sa Star Cinema kung kaya't na-postpone ito.



"WHEN I MET YOU." Wednesday, May 21, natuloy naman ang story conference and pictorial nina Richard at KC for their Star Cinema project. Meanwhile, the talks continued between GMA Films and Star Cinema para maayos ang ilang gusot and, presumably, all went well for GMA Films to do its own announcement Thursday morning, May 22.



Alas-onse pa lang ng umaga, kumpleto na ang triumvirate ng GMA Films na sina Ms. Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Joey Abacan, at Noel Ferrer. Ayos na rin ang boardroom ng 16th floor arranged by the Corporate Communication unit headed by Angel Javier. Maaga ring nagsidatingan ang GMA TV crew pati na rin sina Ricky Lo at Lhar Santiago, at sumunod na ang mga publicists ng GMA Films.



Sa background, pinapatugtog ang kantang "When I Met You." We later found out na ito pala ang magiging title ng pelikula na nina Richard at KC, na isinulat at ididirehe ni Direk Joey Reyes, na nasa grounds na rin at hinihintay ang pagdating nina Richard at KC.



According to Direk Joey, When I Met You is a "sweeping romance" about the joy of being young, alive, and in love. Basically, sabi niya, it is everything that's beautiful in the world.



PEP asked Noel and Direk Joey kung magkakaroon din ito ng out of the country scenes. Ito raw ang isa sa mga pag-uusapan sa itaas. Malamang na magkaroon din daw, pero ayaw munang ipasabi kung anong bansa sila pupunta.



When I Met You is scheduled to open February 11, 2009. Like the first four Valentine movies of Richard—Let The Love Begin, I Will Always Love You, The Promise, and My Best Friend's Girlfriend—it will be co-produced by Regal Entertainment.

Closeted men have kids too, Brokeback Mountain? Yup, that was based on the real life experiences of many women.

These are good times for Ruffa Gutierrez. She is in a phase of her life which she describes as her “most peaceful” and “happiest.”

Indeed, she has managed to be at the peak of her health and career in spite of having gone through controversies and storms.

First, there’s the successful hosting stint for Sunday afternoon talk show, The Buzz. Next comes an upcoming movie with mom Annabelle Rama. Now, another entry has been added to her already long list of endorsements that include shampoos, whitening soaps, and cosmetics. She has recently signed up to become the endorser of Xando Tummy, the latest product from the Xando family.

The secret to her strength and happiness, says the 1993 Ms. World second runner-up, is to keep light and clean from within.

“First, it’s important for me to find my inner peace. That means letting go of all my emotional baggage,” says the mother of Lorin and Venice. She attributes that peace of mind to a diplomatic closure between her and ex-husband Ylmaz Bektas.

Next, it is essential for the actress to feel physically light and clean. Now that she has become a single parent, she has to work her hardest to attend to her children’s needs. But to do that, she must still look gorgeous despite the stress of a hectic daily routine.

“Being a young mom, I do my best to provide for the future of my kids. They are my universe. Everything I do is for them. That’s why I don’t only work hard. I also try to stay healthy. It’s really for them,” she says.

To acquire the right energy that will keep up with the pace of her lifestyle, Gutierrez takes lots of food supplements and vitamins.

“Lots of rest also keeps me at the peak of my health,” discloses the star of upcoming movie, Monster Mom. “I must have at least eight hours of sleep every day or else, I get cranky.”

To avoid her skin from sagging, Gutierrez allots time for exercise. “Pilates keeps my skin firm,” she enthuses.

When it comes to food, Ruffa does not maintain a beauty queen diet as many suppose. In fact, she confesses love for food, especially junk food. But sometimes, unhealthy eating habits take their toll on her health.

“I always experience that heavy, bloated feeling,” she confides. “I also worry about my tummy getting bigger. Keeping our tummies flat has always been a problem in the family,” she adds.

But all of that has changed, says the actress, when she got introduced to Tummy Tablets.

“I really felt that the tablets cleansed my system so I feel lighter. What I love most is that it makes my tummy look flatter,” she says.

Gutierrez denies endorsing the food supplement for the sake of money or because the deal is good.

“I make it a point to try the product first before I can endorse it. I have to believe in the product since I will be lending my name to it. It should tell the public what kind of person I am and what type of lifestyle I have,” she explains.

After a month of using the tablets, Ruffa loved the results these have done to her body. This has prompted the TV personality to make the food supplement a part of her everyday diet.

Friend Kris Aquino has also noticed the positive effects the tablets have given Gutierrez.

“Ruffa is always lean all the way except for the tummy,” notes the host of the ABS-CBN game show, Wheel of Fortune. “But Xando Tummy has really done its part in correcting Ruffa’s proportions,” she adds.

Likewise, Boy Abunda, Ruffa’s co-host in The Buzz, has acknowledged how bubbly and happier Ruffa has become since taking the food supplement.

“Now, she has more reason to be beautiful and that opens her to more possibilities in life and love,” enthuses Abunda.

Indeed, Gutierrez feels she’s living a balanced life inside out, making her feel more confident and optimistic. In fact, when her guest co-host in The Buzz, Anne Curtis, recently asked her if she would ever fall in love again, the former beauty queen cheerfully replied, “Of course! Why not?”

Ruffa Gutierrez apologizes to the press for her and Judy Ann Santos', and Claudine and Gretchen Barreto's diva behaviour at Pantene's "Most Beautiful" ad campaign press con. The "prima donna" issue first surfaced on the Gretchen-Dawn feud. Is she going to reveal the behind-the-scenes story this time?

It's been almost a week since the "walkout incident" at the Pantene's Most Beautiful launch. Showbiz reporters, photographers, and cameramen were then supposed to have a one-on-one interview with the shampoo's newest batch of endorsers for its Most Beautiful ad campaign—Ruffa Gutierrez, Judy Ann Santos, Claudine Barretto, and Gretchen Barretto. But for some unknown reason, it took quite some time for the four ladies to emerge from the ladies' room of Hotel Intercontinental Manila.



One of the organizers told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the beautiful women had a costume change. This was seconded by Judy Ann Santos in her interview with Nelson Canlas.



"Just so maklaro lang," Juday said. "We just went to the washroom just to change, retouch, and freshen up. Para paglabas namin, maayos pa rin since ‘Most Beautiful' nga ang nire-represent namin. Ayaw naman naming lalampot-lampot pa kami 'pag lumabas kami. Gusto naming iklaro na hindi kami ikinulong sa kuwarto at hindi rin kami pinigilang magpa-interview sa media."



A source, however, claimed that Gretchen reportedly did not like one of the questions of host-columnist Ricky Lo, one of the few who was able to secure an interview. As a result, La Greta allegedly went rushing to the ladies' room, with sister Claudine, friend Ruffa, and Judy Ann immediately following her.



When PEP sent a text message to Ruffa the day after the event, her reply was, "Kaloka!" The host-actress also said she would wait for the press statement of Pantene.



The same day, PEP staff writer Nerisa Almo's article titled "Showbiz press walk out on shampoo brand’s launch" was put out, Pantene—through its events' arm Capri—explained what happened.



"Unfortunately because of the huge number of media guests, it became difficult to communicate to everyone that the interviews will continue. In fact, the four women stepped back out and resumed granting interviews just as some media were leaving. For the TV and print media who were left behind, the four endorsers continued to do interviews for the next hour."



Today, May 3, Ruffa sent PEP this text message: "I would like to apologize to the members of the press, most of whom are my friends and whom I grew up with."



She also told PEP she'll share her account of what really happened on The Buzz tomorrow.

Richard Gomez Lucy Torres 10 year anniversary

Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres have been married for 10 years now, and celebrated en grande in a grand celebration with a slew of celebrity friends, including Eddie Gutierrez, Richard Gutierrez, Raymond, Annabelle Rama, Susan Roces, Mother Lily Monteverde, John Estrada, Bubbles Paraiso, and more.

Kagabi, May 1, ay masayang idinaos ng mag-asawang Richard Gomez at Lucy Torres ang kanilang ika-sampung anibersaryo bilang mag-asawa. Ang tunay na date ng kanilang kasal ay April 28, pero itinaon na nila sa holiday na May 1 (Labor Day) ang kanilang party.



Matatandaang ikinasal sila sa St. Peter and Paul Parish Church sa Ormoc City (bayan ni Lucy) noong April 28, 1998, isang taon matapos makamit ni Richard ang matamis na "oo" ni Lucy, na aminadong long-time crush niya ang matniee idol ng dekada otsenta.



Nagkakilala ang dalawa noong gawin nila ang isang TV commercial para sa Lux shampoo noong 1993, na nasundan ng isa pa noong 1997.



Samantala, isang formal sit-down dinner ang inihanda ng mag-asawa para sa kanilang malalapit na mga kaibigan, na karamihan ay masasabing non-showbiz.



Ang pagtitipon ay ginanap sa Felix restaurant sa Greenbelt 5 sa Makati City na sosyong pag-aari ng magkakaibigang Ben Chan (na siyang ring may-ari ng Bench chain of stores), ang pamosong chef na si Florabel Kho (na siya ring may-ari ng Florabel sa Podium sa Ortigas, kung saan kasosyo rin niya si Ben Chan), at si Lucy Torres, na first time mag-venture sa food business.



"Naku, maliit na maliit lang naman ang amin dito," natatawang sabi ni Lucy nang batiin namin ang pagsabak niya sa business.



May dalawang linggo ring pinaghandaan ng mag-asawa ang anniversary party nilang ito. Sa paunang text invitation ni Goma (palayaw ni Richard) sa YES! magazine at PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ay pabirong sinabi ng aktor, "Kailangan nating mag-celebrate dahil konti na lang kami [sa showbiz] na nagtatagal ang pagsasama."



At dahil espesyal ang pagtitipon, nais na ring ipagmalaki ni Lucy—pati na rin nina Ben at Florabel na kapwa naroon at nakiki-istima—ang masasarap na putahe ng Felix restaurant, na ipinatikim nila sa kanilang mga bisita.

Enrique Iglesias, will be performing LIVE in Miami, Florida at the 2008 Premios Billboard de la Musica Latina airing nationwide tonight at 7pm on Telemundo here in the USA. Pinoy Idol with Jolina Magdangal!

Jolina Magdangal is off to Italy to shoot the movie that was supposed to star Gabby Concepcion, and her TV show Pinoy Idol debuted this week on Philippine television, with Ogie Alcasid, Raymond Gutierrez, and Wygnard Tracy. It was entertaining, although the original was so much better and more fun to watch, but the quality of TV is improving in the Philippines, thank God.

Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita starring a fantastic and captivating Dina Bonnevie has to be one of the best TV shows on right now, and one of the best written. Dina anchors this show with her fantastic acting, it's no wonder she's been in showbiz for so long, because she is just super talented when it comes to playing her roles in any role or type of role, whether it's comedy or drama, that she does. Also with Yasmien Kurdi, JC de Vera, Marvin Agustin, and:Angelika dela Cruz has returned to GMA. Her nickname is Angel, which is exactly what she is.Marvin Agustin talks about his career that spans almost 20 years now.Princesa ng Banyera starring Kristine Hermosa, TJ Trinidad, & Oyo Boy Sotto. We love Kristine, always have, always will.Lobo starring Angel Locsin & Piolo Pascual is okay, but the story is dragging.
Volta stars the fantastic Ai Ai de las Alas, translated to English, Ai Ai 'of the wings', and she sure does fly in this show.
I Am KC has been airing saturdays starring KC Concepcion & Ai Ai de las Alas.
Kung Fu Kids is a great showcase for all of the talented young actors in the Philippines, however, it's a poorly scripted show that is so depressing to watch. But Philippine TV has always been depressing to watch, because most of the stories are so depressing reflecting I suppose the supposedly depressing life of the masses, so I guess, what's the difference?
Love Spell is great and Philippine TV needs more supernatural/horror shows, because that's what Filipinos are really good at making. Sigaw, of which it's American remake will be coming out soon, is a fantastic example.
Palos starring Cesar Montano & Jake Cuenca is obviously an attempted remake of James Bond, but it doesn't work. I've watched it, and some scenes are entertaining, but they should stick to Tagalog. The English dialogue is written well and if you take the words they say and put it on paper, it's really sophisticated, but when you hear the actors and actresses actually say it, it just doesn't click...

Joaquin Bordado also starring Iza Calzado & Robin Padilla is excellent, but I personally am very tired of remakes of Philippine comic books by Carlo J. Caparas.
