Sinorpresa ni Rufa Mae Quinto ang buong staff ng Showbiz Central nitong nakaraang Sunday, May 4, sa GMA Broadway Studios dahil sa pagdating ng nababalitang boyfriend niya na si Bobby Lopez.



Ang Hong Kong-based American boyfriend ni Rufa Mae ay dumating sa bansa para um-attend ng isang business meeting at sabay na rin ang pagdalaw nito kay Rufa Mae. Tinupad nga nito ang kanyang pangako na ipapakilala niya ang kasalukuyang inspirasyon niya sa mga taga-Showbiz Central.



"Nag-promise naman kasi ako talaga sa buong staff na personally ay ipapakilala ko sila kay Bobby," nakangiting pahayag ni Rufa Mae sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). "Kaya bago ko siya ihatid sa airport, pinadaan ko na siya sa GMA Broadway kunsaan kami nagla-live ng Showbiz Central. ‘Ayun nagulat sila. Akala nila hindi ko tutuparin ang promise ko sa kanila."



BOBBY IN THE FLESH. Nagulat nga raw si Rufa Mae na may nagsulat na ilusyon lang daw ang nababalitang boyfriend niya na si Bobby. Bakit daw puro kuwento lang daw ito pero wala naman daw pruweba na totoo nga itong si Bobby.



"Naku, noong una, sinulat na break na kami. Ngayon, ilusyon lang daw. Nakakalokah, huh! As if alam nila ang nangyayari sa buhay ko 24/7!" sabay tawa ni Rufa Mae.



"Kaya hayan, in the flesh na dinala ko si Bobby sa studio. Hindi lang flesh kundi may dugo, laman, at humihinga pa! Siguro naman titigil na ang mga nagsasabi na nag-iilusyon lang ako, ‘di ba? Maging happy na lang sila sa akin na may bagong inspirasyon ako ngayon."



At dahil sa personal na dinala ni Rufa Mae si Bobby sa Showbiz Central, doon na rin ginanap ang isang exclusive interview ni John "Sweet" Lapus kay Bobby na kasama pa si Rufa Mae pagkatapos ng show.



"Napapayag ko naman si Bobby na magpa-interview. Nahihiya nga siya kasi nga hindi naman niya mundo ang showbiz. Pero dahil nga raw ako ang nag-request, pumayag siya. Abangan nila ang nakakatawang interview namin with Sweet sa darating na Linggo. Labanan ito ng English vocabularies. Inglesan-to-the-max kami!" malakas na tawa pa ni Rufa Mae.



At kung hindi raw mag-iiba ang mga plano, baka makapag-guest ng live pa itong si Bobby Lopez sa Showbiz Central.



"Depende kasi sa schedules ni Bobby. Parati kasi siyang lipad nang lipad sa iba't ibang bansa dahil sa nature ng trabaho niya. Pero he will try his best na ma-open ang schedule niya for Showbiz Central. Para live and exclusive siya, ‘di ba?"



DATING A CELEBRITY. Kuwento ni Rufa Mae, aksidenteng nagkakilala sila ni Bobby sa Hong Kong early this year. Nasa HK si Rufa Mae para sa isang seminar para sa kanyang travel agency samantalang si Bobby ay naka-base sa HK office ng Mattel, Inc. as finance executive.



"Ang pagkakakilala niya sa akin ay owner ako ng isang travel agency dito sa Pilipinas. Hindi niya alam na celebrity ako dito sa atin. Ayokong manggaling sa akin na artista ako. I want him to find that out for himself.



"Noong unang bisita niya sa akin dito sa Pilipinas, doon lang niya nalaman. Kasi noong mag-dinner kami sa labas, maraming lumapit sa akin at nagpa-picture. Nagtanong siya kung celebrity ba ako rito? Sinagot ko na, ‘Yes, I am.' Kaya dinala ko na siya sa mga trabaho ko. Natuwa naman siya kasi hindi niya alam na he's dating a celebrity. Parang pelikula, ‘di ba?"



Nang tanungin ng PEP si Bobby kung may iba pa siyang dine-date na babae maliban kay Rufa Mae, sinagot nito na wala. Si Rufa Mae lang daw ang dine-date niya exclusively.



"I'm not dating anybody except her," sabay ngiti ni Bobby. "I want to get to know her better and to get to know all her friends here. She has a fun job and I am looking forward for more surprises coming from her."

For a woman who is so chic and up to date on the world and on what's going on in the states and who has a lot of gay friends and who has a gay member of her own family, her gaydar sure wasn't working very well, because it's quite obvious that Yilmaz Bektas is a closet you know what. These are good times for Ruffa Gutierrez. She is in a phase of her life which she describes as her “most peaceful” and “happiest.”

Indeed, she has managed to be at the peak of her health and career in spite of having gone through controversies and storms.

First, there’s the successful hosting stint for Sunday afternoon talk show, The Buzz. Next comes an upcoming movie with mom Annabelle Rama. Now, another entry has been added to her already long list of endorsements that include shampoos, whitening soaps, and cosmetics. She has recently signed up to become the endorser of Xando Tummy, the latest product from the Xando family.

The secret to her strength and happiness, says the 1993 Ms. World second runner-up, is to keep light and clean from within.

“First, it’s important for me to find my inner peace. That means letting go of all my emotional baggage,” says the mother of Lorin and Venice. She attributes that peace of mind to a diplomatic closure between her and ex-husband Ylmaz Bektas.

Next, it is essential for the actress to feel physically light and clean. Now that she has become a single parent, she has to work her hardest to attend to her children’s needs. But to do that, she must still look gorgeous despite the stress of a hectic daily routine.

“Being a young mom, I do my best to provide for the future of my kids. They are my universe. Everything I do is for them. That’s why I don’t only work hard. I also try to stay healthy. It’s really for them,” she says.

To acquire the right energy that will keep up with the pace of her lifestyle, Gutierrez takes lots of food supplements and vitamins.

“Lots of rest also keeps me at the peak of my health,” discloses the star of upcoming movie, Monster Mom. “I must have at least eight hours of sleep every day or else, I get cranky.”

To avoid her skin from sagging, Gutierrez allots time for exercise. “Pilates keeps my skin firm,” she enthuses.

When it comes to food, Ruffa does not maintain a beauty queen diet as many suppose. In fact, she confesses love for food, especially junk food. But sometimes, unhealthy eating habits take their toll on her health.

“I always experience that heavy, bloated feeling,” she confides. “I also worry about my tummy getting bigger. Keeping our tummies flat has always been a problem in the family,” she adds.

But all of that has changed, says the actress, when she got introduced to Tummy Tablets.

“I really felt that the tablets cleansed my system so I feel lighter. What I love most is that it makes my tummy look flatter,” she says.

Gutierrez denies endorsing the food supplement for the sake of money or because the deal is good.

“I make it a point to try the product first before I can endorse it. I have to believe in the product since I will be lending my name to it. It should tell the public what kind of person I am and what type of lifestyle I have,” she explains.

After a month of using the tablets, Ruffa loved the results these have done to her body. This has prompted the TV personality to make the food supplement a part of her everyday diet.

Friend Kris Aquino has also noticed the positive effects the tablets have given Gutierrez.

“Ruffa is always lean all the way except for the tummy,” notes the host of the ABS-CBN game show, Wheel of Fortune. “But Xando Tummy has really done its part in correcting Ruffa’s proportions,” she adds.

Likewise, Boy Abunda, Ruffa’s co-host in The Buzz, has acknowledged how bubbly and happier Ruffa has become since taking the food supplement.

“Now, she has more reason to be beautiful and that opens her to more possibilities in life and love,” enthuses Abunda.

Indeed, Gutierrez feels she’s living a balanced life inside out, making her feel more confident and optimistic. In fact, when her guest co-host in The Buzz, Anne Curtis, recently asked her if she would ever fall in love again, the former beauty queen cheerfully replied, “Of course! Why not?”
