John Lloyd Cruz Betty La Fea's Armando

John Lloyd Cruz is Betty La Fea's Armando as revealed today on The Buzz. All I have to say is I do know that people from ABS-CBN are reading this blog, because of my cousin who works with them (and GMA as well), so I just gotta say thank God they listened to me and didn't cast Jake Cuenca, and I said to cast John Lloyd and they did. So that's good, because this role requires a really good actor, and the chemistry between Armando and Betty is so important, and it's quite established that John Lloyd and Bea have great chemistry.
ABS-CBN also listened to me sort of when I said to cast Assunta de Rossi in the cast. Well, they cast Alessandra de Rossi instead, and that's great, because I love her and I love that she'll be in this series because she's a great actress. There's a reason why at the age of 16 she won the FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Azucena".

Piolo Pascual was a possible prospect for the role: “I’m not supposed to tell, it's a secret. People will find out and it shouldn't come from me,” Pascual said.

Sandara Park returns to Philippines

Sandara Park came home to the Philippines, the country she grew up in since she was 11 years old, this past weekend: "Maraming lumapit sa akin, kinausap nila ako ‘tapos yung iba nagpa-picture pa. Kilala pa rin pala ako ng mga tao dito. Akala ko limot na nila ako," says Sandara Park about her arrival at the airport.

"Krung krung" made a special appearance on ASAP this past Sunday.

Sandy also stopped by The Buzz to talk.

Katrina Halili: "E, siyempre po, si Joross. Kasi mas palagi kong kasama...palagi kong ka-text, pero, friends lang po talaga, " says Katrina Halili when asked who between Joross Gamboa and Marvin Agustin has a better chance to date her.

Gabby Concepcion: "Hindi, kasi baka sabihin ginagamit. Hindi naman kung sinu-sino nga si KC, okay. Gusto ko, ako lang muna," replies Gabby Concepcion when asked why he doesn't have a duet with daughter KC Concepcion in his debut album.

KC Concepcion wears Richard Gutierrez's necklace

Lucy Torres leads the stars during the launching of TV5 last Thursday night, August 7. Lucy's dance show Shall We Dance is the only program from ABC-5 that will continue airing in TV5.

KC Concepcion is wearing the necklace and bracelet that Richard Gutierrez gave her during their shooting of For The First Time in Santorini, Greece. KC was a special guest at her mom Sharon Cuneta's anniversary concert at Araneta Coliseum last night, August 8.

Sharon Cuneta, 30 years in showbiz celebration, and the man who wrote her first hit song, Rey Valera. The two perform "Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko," another piece from the composer of "Mr. DJ."

Rhian Ramos: "I am really, really happy because nagtiwala si Mr. Sabella sa sa akin even if there are really bad rumors about me. Sinabi naman nila sa akin na what's important is that I can represent the new look of Sabella."

Brent Javier: "They're trying to package me wholesome as an actor. So don't expect me to don swimwear anytime soon or be as daring as my pictorial."

Bea Alonzo of I Love Betty La Fea is the cover girl for Star Studio August 2008. ABS-CBN is already airing previews of the series despite the fact that the male lead has not been cast yet.
However, Ruffa Gutierrez, Ai Ai de las Alas, and Vhong Navarro are perfect choices for their respective roles.

Lea Salonga: "You know, it's fun interacting with a lot of celebrities that have become my friends. And I guess that's part of, I kind of dip my toes in every once in a while. But I grew up doing theater, I love doing theater. It's very straightforward, sequential, and I have a life."

Claudine Barreto on daughter Sabina: "Mahirap i-explain sa kanya [Sabina], but we want her to know that we love her so much. Mas kailangan niya kami. God's will yung pagdating niya sa buhay namin."

Christian Bautista to Dingdong Dantes: "Gusto ko ay yung magkausap kami like two gentlemen because I will be working with Karylle in this musical from September to October of this year. I just want to say that I will be taking good care of Karylle and he has nothing to worry about."

Ruffa Gutierrez on reconciling with Yilmaz Bektas:“Hay, alam ninyo, there’s still, while you’re still alive… I mean, there’s always hope. Siyempre may chance. Yung ibang tao nga after 15 years nagkakabalikan.”

Annabelle Rama is known to be a very protective mother, and in an interview with PEP, the Gutierrez matriarch talks about the love affairs of daughter Ruffa and son Richard Gutierrez.

Cheska Garcia won't invite Jennylyn Mercado to her wedding: “Be the better judge. You have spoken to me. I’m at the state right now where I’m all loose. I can be a b*tch to you right now but I choose not to. Because that’s the way I was brought up. I don’t have to try hard. That’s the way I am, and the way my brother is. And I know my brother better than anybody else in the showbiz.”

Toni Gonzaga: "You just have to prove your worth sa industry na ito. Yun ang isang bagay na natutunan ko. You don't have to give up at saka tatagan mo lang sa mga criticism. Hayaan mo lang yun. I-take mo ang iba as contructive at i-take mo naman ang iba na dumadaan lang sa isang tainga at lumalabas naman sa kabila. Pero yung may mga points, tandaan mo yun."

Rufa Mae Quinto (left) reunites with Ai-Ai delas Alas for the OctoArts Films presentation Pasukob. The two comediennes first worked together in Viva Films' Booba (2001), which was Rufa Mae's launching movie. The movie will be coming to theatres nationwide November 28. PEP.ph
