TV Ratings Dyesebel My Girl

Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus stirred the primetime race a little bit during the last few days of the ABS-CBN reality show. The two-week old My Girl, on the other hand, seems to have lost its steam immediately as its ratings dropped considerably.

PBB Teen Edition Plus placed fifth overall Tuesday (June 3) with 26.6 percent and Thursday (June 5) with 24.8 percent. On Wednesday, June 4, it managed to grab the fourth spot from perennial fourth placer 24 Oras. PBB got 28.1 percent while 24 Oras received 28 percent.

Tomorrow night, June 6, it will finally be revealed who among Beauty, Ejay, Nicole, and Robi would be the Big Winner in a live presentation at the Araneta Coliseum.

Meanwhile, after an impressive debut, My Girl dropped to No. 6 last Tuesday (23.6 percent), No. 8 Wednesday (23.2 percent), and No. 7 Thursday (20.9 percent—its lowest rating so far).

Dyesebel is still the undisputed No. 1 primetime program while also maintaining a 40-plus rating this week.

Joaquin Bordado and Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita also maintained their standing as the second and third most-watched primetime shows.

Lobo, on the other hand, improved its status as it consistently held on to the No. 6 position; along with Pinoy Idol Extra at No. 9.

In the daytime race, Magdusa Ka took the lead Tuesday and Wednesday, but Daisy Siete managed to grab it Thursday.

Dyesebel TV Ratings

Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita inched a bit closer to scare primetime leader Dyesebel last Friday, May 30. Gathering a rating of 34.5 percent against Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes's 36.1 percent, the tandem of Yasmien Kurdi and JC de Vera almost pulled off a surprise in the Mega Manila contest.

Robin Padilla's Joaquin Bordado likewise figured strongly as shown by its 34.2 percent grade followed by GMA-7's news program 24 Oras, which collared a rating of 29.5 percent.

The Kapuso Network safely secured the Top 5 slots with Pinoy Idol sealing the deal and temporarily keeping ABS-CBN's resilient My Girl at bay. Pinoy Idol scored one of its highest ratings, 23.3 percent, good enough for No. 5.

Despite dropping to No. 6, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson's show proved that its previous strong showing was no flash in the pan. Buoyed up considerably by its 22.8 percent rating, My Girl even edged out fellow ABS-CBN contender Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus albeit by a slim margin.

In the daytime race, afternoon drama series summoned its collective grit to push the noontime shows away from the top. Daisy Siete, Kaputol ng Isang Awit, and Magdusa Ka all figured in a tight battle for daytime supremacy with the Sexbomb Dancers emerging as the top winner.

The country's longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! occupied the fourth spot with a 20.4 percent rating while Willie Revillame's Wowowee wrestled the No. 6 position via its 16.9 percent rating.

Eat Bulaga, however, redeemed itself the next day, May 31, Saturday, as the trio of Tito, Vic, and Joey regained control of the weekend race by registering a 21.7 percent rating versus Wowowee's 17.2. StarTalk, on the other hand, once again took the fight out of rival Entertainment Live with a commanding 15 percent rating against the latter's 7.9 percent.

Saturday primetime belongs to Jessica Soho as her Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho bested Mike Enriquez's Imbestigador to take the No. 1 spot overall. Weekend contender Bitoy's Funniest Videos came in at third with 30.3 percent rating to boot followed by ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, which amassed a total of 20.8 percent.

SOP once again ruled Sunday's daytime race with 16.4 percent versus ASAP '08's 13.4 percent, which is good for No. 3. The second slot was taken by Takeshi's Castle with 14.1 percent.

The new season of Your Song, featuring Angelica Panganiban, TJ Trinidad, Wendy Valdez, and Zanjoe Marudo, grabbed fourth place with 12.9 percent; followed by Kay Susan Tayo and Pinoy Idol Extra.

The first part of the month-long first anniversary of Showbiz Central beat the first part of the month-long ninth anniversary of The Buzz, 10.4 percent against 9.7 percent.

The primetime race belonged to Mel & Joey, which posted a rating of 23.8 percent. It was followed by Ful Haus (23.2 percent), All Star K (22.8 percent), Pinoy Idol (22.1 percent), and Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus (22 percent).

Yesterday, June 2, saw Dyesebel once again swimming its way to a comfortable lead against the competition. Perhaps shaken by Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita's brave stand last week, the legendary Filipino mermaid regained it composure to take an imposing 41 percent rating.

The heavy drama show appeared to have lost steam a bit as they slipped to No. 3 with a 30.6 percent tally behind the resurging Joaquin Bordado, which registered 36.8 percent.

Four ABS-CBN shows notched the fifth to eight spots. Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus gained momentum, securing the fifth slot via its 27 percent rating. My Girl followed with 22.8 percent while The Singing Bee and TV Patrol World scored 22.6 and 18.1 percent, respectively.

My Girl TV Ratings

My Girl failed to sustain its impressive debut last Monday, May 26. After posting a rating of 28 percent on its opening night, the Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson starrer's rating dropped to 23.9 the following night, May 27, to land at No. 6, failing to topple the GMA nighttime block of Dyesebel, Babangon, and Joaquin Bordado.

My Girl went back to its position as the No. 1 ABS-CBN program and fifth overall Wednesday (May 28) and Thursday (May 29) with 24.6 percent and 24.7 percent, respectively.

But still, GMA-7's drama series Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita survived the competition given by My Girl and retained its lead on their timeslot, according to the latest overnight ratings among Mega Manila households.

Dyesebel remains as the No. 1 primetime program posting the following ratings from Tuesday to Thursday: 40.8 percent, 37.4 percent, and 37.7 percent.

Joaquin Bordado and 24 Oras also retained their positions in the Top 4.

The other programs that consistently made it in the Top 10 are Lobo, Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, The Legend, and TV Patrol World. GMA-7's game show Gobingo managed to grab the 1oth place last Tuesday when TV Patrol World and PBB Teen Edition Plus tied at No. 9.

In the daytime race, Kaputol ng Isang Awit took the No. 1 spot Tuesday and Thursday, while Daisy Siete grabbed the lead Wednesday.

Magdusa Ka placed second and Eat Bulaga! was fourth from Tuesday to Thursday.

ABS-CBN's new afternoon soap, Ligaw Na Bulaklak, dropped to No. 8 after debuting at No. 7.

Marimar star Katrina Halili will release a coffeetable book to promote Philippine tourism and art: "Lahat ng ginagawa ko, paiba lang siya nang paiba. Pero basta iba ito, surprise na lang, hintayin na lang nila. Ayoko na lang ikuwento basta mas sexy." PEP, Nelson Canlas:

Katrina Halili gets more daring in her pictorial for a coffeetable book, which is a dream of hers. "Kasi nung bata pa ako, mahilig akong tumingin ng magazines. ‘Tapos ngayon nagshu-shoot ako na ako ng FHM, ‘tapos nakahiligan ko na rin siya. Naisip ko, bakit hindi ko gawin," says Katrina.

For the first layout of Katrina's pictorial, the sexy young actress has chosen the island of Boracay as location—a cover near the Station 1 of Bora.

The concept of Katrina's pictorial is a sea goddess and a shipwreck survivor.

"Lahat ng ginagawa ko, paiba lang siya nang paiba. Pero basta iba ito, surprise na lang, hintayin na lang nila. Ayoko na lang ikuwento, basta mas sexy," says Katrina.

"Nakakatakot din, pero mas nae-excite ako. Nae-excite talaga ako kasi gustung-gusto ko siyang gawin," says Katrina about her new pictorial.

Katrina picked ace photographer Nicolo Cosme to capture the sensuality of the StarStruck 1 Avenger.

"We are trying to infuse tourism, entertainment, and then art [in this book]. I think it's very good," says photographer Nicolo Cosme.

Adds Nicolo, "Basically, nag-meeting kami that night nung dumating dito. May mga themes kami na susundin, sexy, provocative pero hindi bastos. I think natsa-challenge din siya, e. Hindi ko puwedeng i-disclose yung buong details, pero I think she will be baring a lot of skin."

Katrina says that Boracay is only the first of the many locations for her coffeetable book. "Nandito kami ngayon sa Boracay, ‘tapos next kaming pupunta ng Palawan, Romblon, at marami pang place na pupuntahan namin para mag-shoot kami," says Katrina. Nelson Canlas Photos.
