Gawad Urian 2008: Jason Abalos, Sid Lucero, Cherry Pie Picache, and Emilio Garcia show off the trophies that they received during the 31st Gawad Urian Awards last night, October 1, at the CCP.

After 14 years, Emilio Garcia finally has his dream award

Emilio Garcia: "Oo, siyempre, bata ka pa lang, nakikita mo na palaging ang mga batikang aktor, winner ng Urian. So, lahat naman siguro. So, ako, wala na...I'm complete! Kumpleto na ang buhay ko. Okey na ‘ko," says Emilio Garcia about his recent win as Best Supporting Actor for the movie Selda.

Jason Abalos: "'Eto na, ‘eto na ang panaginip ko, nagkatotoo na! Siyempre, natuwa ako noong pangalan ko ang natawag. Siyempre, kumbaga sa school, ito yung medal ng pagiging artista!" beams Jason Abalos after winning the best-actor trophy in last night's Urian Awards for his performance in Endo.

Piolo Pascual: "I'm excited about the project, it's the first time I produce. I hope it turns out well," says Piolo Pascual on his upcoming independent film Manila."There are some controversies, pero we're happy because tapos na kami sa shoot," Piolo told PEP when asked for an update about Manila."Post-production na, I'm gonna see the rough cut tonight. I hope they'll be able to iron things out with Mr. Ricky Lee and Mr. Pete Lacaba. I'd rather not comment about it because I only found out about it yesterday. So, I haven't really discussed it with my director. I'm meeting up with him tonight, si Direk Adolf Alix Jr. But I'm praying na maayos naman."

Dennis Trillo Sexy

GMA-7 presents its latest Sine Novela offering, Pablo Gomez's Magdusa Ka, starring Dennis Trillo, Iwa Moto, Jackie Lou Blanco, Emilio Garcia, Gabby Eigenmann, and Katrina Halili in a very different role. Magdusa Ka will start airing on May 12.

Magdusa Ka is one of the most notable movies in the '80s that garnered numerous awards from various film organizations. The movie was directed by Eddie Garcia and starred Dina Bonnevie, Christopher de Leon, the late Dindo Fernando, and the late Nida Blanca. Now, GMA-7 is recreating this masterpiece for the small screen with Maryo J. de los Reyes at the helm.
