Classic Moments of Philippine Cinema: Vic Sotto and Rosanna Roces sing "Awitin Mo" and do a sexy hip-gyrating dance This is a great video clip of one of my favorite moments of all time in the history of Filipino movies that just makes me and I'm sure will make you just so happy on the inside. Philippine cinema legends Rosanna Roces and Vic Sotto sing and dance to "Awitin Mo At Isasayaw Ko" (You sing it and I'll dance to it), a song Vic Sotto wrote with his friend J@ey de Leon during their days in the hit music band VST and Co.
Marian Rivera is Dyesebel GMA has announced that Marian Rivera will be starring in the remake of Dyesebel, the mermaid, a role made famous by Vilma Santos in the early 70s. She is still unofficially attached to Rosalinda, but it's obvious they're putting off Rosalinda for a later release date (2009) so that the Thalia-novelas don't get repetitive and saturate the airwaves so soon after the recent success of Marimar. Although, for Filipino television, that is a new strategy since Filipino TV usually is and still is repetitive and if one thing becomes popular, everybody jumps on the bandwagon and soon the channels are bombarded with the same type of thing (fantasy-novelas, asianovelas, etc.), but that is a smart move.
Good news, Filipina actress Vanessa Hudgens has been selected as the new Neutrogena girl as she just signed a contract to sponspor the brand in a new line of commercials and print ads in the US. This is a prestigious ad campaign, and only the most popular young stars get this ad, as actresses in the past who represented Neugrogena include Mandy Moore, Kristen Kreuk, and Paola Rey (from the telenovela Pasion de Amor), and she is also the first actress of Filipino descent in history to represent the prestigious brand. This is great news for her as she moves forward with her career after her recent nude pictures scandal last year. Also, I've used Neutrogena ever since I was 13 years old, and I haven't had a spot of acne since, hehe. Watch the commercial at the bottom of this post: Eat Bulaga cast member Ariana Nogueira The cast of Eat Bulaga was in Abu Dhabi recently to bring joy to the OFWs over there, and there's a clip of our favorite legendary comedy trio, Tito, Vic, and SeƱor de Leon hehe, that just brought me so much joy from watching it as they sang their hits from the 70s and the 80s from their legendary music group VST and Co. to the Pinoys there. People forget that Vic and the guys were the singers of the legendary Pinoy band and they wrote and produced many of the songs together, including Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko, which they sang and danced to in this wonderful clip of nostalgia, happy times, and the cha cha, so check it out, mga kaibigan! (friends) I was born in 1983 (same as Kristine Hermosa, a year before Oyo Boy and a year after Danica) and I'm deeply emotionally attached to Tito, Vic, and J@ey because when I was a little kid of only 5 years old in Manila, they were my favorite favorite most favorite comedy group in the world, and I watched all of their movies, then we moved to the US that same year at the age of 5, and I didn't remember what their names were, but I asked my dad constantly, remember the movie I liked, Hot Dog, with the three funny guys? Rent it for me, Pa! But he couldn't find the movie at the video store and didn't know who I was talking about, and I couldn't remember their names since I was so young, so I spent my entire life feeling nostalgic about that funny Filipino comedy trio that I had forgotten, and I grew up and I forgot about it, and I watched American TV almost my whole life, until 2004 when I started to rediscover my Filipino heritage, which meant, watching Filipino movies and TV shows, and I turn the channel one day to Channel 18 in L.A., and there's Eat Bulaga, and I'm like, I know this guy, he looks familiar. And that was it! My favorite comedy trio when I was young in the 80s, they're still there and it's 2004, I couldn't believe it and I was so happy, it's like a part of my long lost Filipino childhood in Manila was awakened, and it's years later, I'm all grown up, and Tito, Vic, and J@ey are still there and making us all laugh, and that just makes me so happy on the inside, and thanks to them for all of the joy and happiness throughout the years.
