ABS-CBN's Bora

Bora: Sons of the Beach was a fantastic comedy television series on ABS-CBN that starred Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, Carlos Agassi, and BJ Palanca that I'm sure many of us out there remember with fond memories.

Kristine Hermosa, Bea Alonzo, Toni Gonzaga, John Lloyd Cruz, and Assunta de Rossi were among the many famous guest stars.

I wish ABS-CBN would release it to DVD, because I'm sure reading many of the comments on the web, tons of people would buy it since a lot of people miss it a lot. And for sure, it would be a best seller, I mean look at all the huge stars that make up the cast, Piolo Pascual's name alone on the box would sell millions based on his popularity, add to that Diether and Jericho? Kristine and John Lloyd? And Bea, Miss Betty La Fea? Best seller immediately. So please, ABS-CBN, please release it to DVD. Thank you. And you'll be saying "thank you" to yourselves with the money you'll make with the DVD sales.

Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo were not able to attend the premiere of Sharon Cuneta's movie, Caregiver, in London. According to a report, Ryan had to rush back to Manila because of a family emergency.

Jericho Rosales: "Expect a new Jericho, new projects, and there are a lot of things which I still want to share with you. Be it music, acting, directing, or whatever it is. For sure, all you people will be a part of it. Kasama na lahat kayo sa considerations ko. Salamat."

Betty La Fea Remake: Assunta de Rossi!

Assunta de Rossi has won numerous acting awards, including the coveted Best Actress award at the Metro Manila Film Festival (the Philippines' version of the Oscars and most prestigious acting awards ceremony in the country) for her role in Joel Lamangan's hit movie Hubog, and she is an amazing dramatic as well as comedic actress. For the upcoming ABS-CBN remake of Betty La Fea, there is only one woman who can play the role of Patricia Fernández de Brickman, you remember her, the sassy blonde social climbing kikay secretary of Armando, and that's Assunta de Rossi.
This award-winning actress, who was born in 1983 and is the same age as Kristine Hermosa and therefore me, hehe, is amazing, and she is sooo fu-king funny, isn't she? Her and her sister Alessandra de Rossi, who just appeared last week on Eat Bulaga, are like natural comediennes. Everything that pops out of their mouths is just so funny and smart and hilarious and witty and just makes you laugh out loud til your stomach hurts. Their family must have so much fun in their get togethers, and if ever they decided to change careers and become stand-up comedians, their audience would not be disappointed. Guys usually only know Assunta for her sexy movies and FHM covers, but as far as an actress, everybody knows that Assunta is amazing or else ABS-CBN wouldn't have cast her in such important projects such as Jologs or Pinay Pie or with Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Jericho Rosales, and the rest of "the Hunks" in the hit TV show Bora, and she is an amazing actress in both drama and comedy, which is why she won multiple Best Actress awards for her role in Joel Lamangan's Hubog, and she delivers, like she delivered in the recent hit horror flick "Siquijor", and the also amazing recent hit movie and Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Mourning Girls" with Chin Chin Gutierrez and Ricky Davao, and Star Cinema's Jologs, where she basically stole the show and became the character that people most remembered from that hit movie where she not only did she bring the comedy, but the drama as well as you really felt for her character in the amazing scene towards the climax where she said...well I'll just leave that for you to see, ay, it was just amazing, here's a short 11-minute clip from this amazing movie:

Jologs was an amazing movie that defined and defines the youth generation of today, in the 2000s, and it wouldn't have been as amazing as it was and had an impact on youth culture and society if Assunta de Rossi hadn't given her amazing performance that reflects the lives of many young Filipina women who come from unfortunate backgrounds trying to make it in the world using their street smarts and trying to find love at the same time. This is undoubtedly one of the best films I have ever watched in my entire life. Most Filipino movies are corny and lack any sense of reality, but this movie defined a generation, and it's one of the most important movies that reflects the Filipino youth today, struggling to achieve their dreams and overcoming adversity, and it's done in an amazing way. And it's so funny too, Assunta de Rossi was amazing as the sassy street smart young college student trying to make it in the world, and she is so hilarious in this movie, as well as giving an amazing dramatic performance at the same time. There are few actresses who are equally excelled at doing both drama and comedy, and Assunta de Rossi is one of those amazing few.

Assunta de Rossi is one of my favorite actresses of all time, and there are only a few them: Angel, Kristine, Assunta, Rufa Mae, Rica Peralejo, who besides me being a fan of hers is also a family friend of mine, and Jolina, Osang, and Ai-Ai and that's it. And let's not forget what an amazing singer she also is, as that hit song "Kaba" you heard in the clip in the beginning was sung by her and was one of the hit singles that topped the Philippine music charts from the best-selling Jologs soundtrack, which is one of the most important soundtracks of Pinoys who are my age's generation.

Assunta de Rossi is an amazing dramatic actress as well as a genius in doing comedy, and gives amazing comedic and dramatic performances in her numerous hit movies, including Pinay Pie and Mourning Girls. And there is only one girl that can bring comedy and heart to this very important role in the upcoming Betty La Fea remake, and that is Assunta de Rossi, and it's no wonder she won the coveted Best Actress award at the Manila Film Festival because she is an amazing actress bringing life to drama, comedy, horror, and to any role she tackles. Assunta de Rossi is an award-winning Filipina actress that makes us proud to be Filipino.
